Workout Inspiration Part One
Working out or getting exercise is the most crucial method to lose fat and expose a ripped mid section. Some would claim that it’s actually diet that’s more important, but a good diet won’t do much against a stubborn metabolism, it won’t train the muscles around the stomach (and the presence of muscles in itself burns more fat even while you’re sleeping) and there’s only so little you can eat while remaining healthy. Unfortunately however, many people who begin with admirable ambitions to lose weight and tone their muscles end up going off the boil after not long. This comes down to a lack of motivation, of determination and/or of enjoyment for going to the gym. In many ways then, feeling the inspiration to actually go to the gym is the most pivotal element in determining someone’s success in building good abs or increasing their health at all.
It’s unusual however that people find it so hard to be motivated to go to the gym when you consider all of the good that can come from it. Going to the gym will improve your musculature and your weight which will have knock on effects in every area of your life. The first thing you and others will notice when you look that much better is the increase in confidence (which is increased moreso by the fact that you’re now strong enough to take all comers). This new confidence will then help you achieve in other areas of life – in your career and in relationships, as others start to notice that you seem to know what you’re doing. This is called a ‘self fulfilling prophecy’, whereby just feeling more efficient and successful can actually result in you becoming both. You need to believe in yourself before you can expect others too.

Well, yes only food doesn’t determine your weight loss but the right exercise too. Good abs boosts the confidence level a lot and gives a new direction to one’s life. People tend to become more positive and begin enjoying life more. The same happened with me. I was fed up of buying XXXL size clothes and really envied the slim ones who could buy medium sizes and look great. They are admired and as if excel is every other area. I went into the shadows of inferiority complex when my father motivated me to change. I began with workouts and followed the instructions of my instructor at the gym. It took time but was definitely worth it. Now I have reduced a lot and feel so much happy. Looking at my old pictures I feel why I didn’t reduce before and enjoyed those days the way I am enjoying my present. Believe me, all this time and energy that you spend in workouts is truly worth it.

I have been through embarrassing situations because of my over weight physique and I know what a pain it is. People would make fun of me and I could not engage myself in sports and recreation activities. It felt so bad. I remember crying at nights after a bad day at work. I avoided going out and survived on music and books. One fine day I read an article on life and decided to make mine more beautiful. Keeping aside all self imposed restrictions, I began trying to lose weight and socialize with people with a positive attitude. I am happy that I did that at the right time and suggest to everybody that GIVE IT A TRY.

I was very much happy with the way I look and am a happy go lucky person. Losing weight came into the scene only when obesity began causing health troubles. My cholesterol level rose like anything! With a family history of diabetes, I had to obey my doctor and shape up before obesity gifts me a net of diseases and pain!

Marc has cited a very important point. We generally lose weight only to look good and increase social acceptability. But is is vital for our health and that must be the primary reason. If our looks don’t appeal much after shaping up then we may feel de-motivated and begin eating fatty stuff again. But if we feel healthy and fit then that motivation would stay forever.

Going to the gym always seemed a good idea and for fun I enrolled myself. But then its a pain! I could not stick around for even a week. Then a friend of mine (who is well shaped up and regular with gym) told me to take it as a fun activity and enjoy the good music and feel good instead of considering it a huge burden! I did try again and said to myself that this is my choice and I love it. Well, I am quite shaped up now and happy to have listened to her. Small advice but helped me Big time!

We need to know that “fitness” and “looks” is not one and the same thing. I have seen many people, who have a healthy build but are healthy enough to counter any prospective health trouble. On the contrary, there are those who look shaped up and beautiful but are internally very weak and vulnerable. We should work out and do any form of exercise primarily to be healthy. Yes a bulged tummy may be unhealthy and should be taken care of.

Whatever is the reason, workout and have good health. From the numerous benefits that one may avail, good health is the most important. Looks would in any case fade after a certain age, but our inner systems should support us all through. Obesity brings with it huge number of diseases and works like a termite. Better to win over it before it gets late!

I too went through the same situation, got de-motivated within a month and gave up. After a month I put on another 4 kgs. I began going for morning walks and balanced it but after six months I saw my fellow gym mates lose weight and begin shaping up. Then I felt a pang in my heart. I could have been like them too! Then I decided to re-join and never to give up. Efforts showed up and I am now habituated to workout and enjoy it.
